Technology and Player Safety

We idolize our athletes … from 7 year old T ballers to NFL Pro Bowl safeties. We cheer for them, we draw inspiration from them, we hold them in high regard. Protecting our athletes as they engage in competition has become more and more of a priority in modern sports. This is evident in the many changes to the rules as well as advances made in the equipment that protects their body from harm.

At OMNi, we see technology as the next iteration of safety for athletes. Technology will give us greater insight into the true physical condition of the player as well as key data that will allow him or her to make better decisions by way of participation and longevity of play. Technology will afford athletes, coaches, trainers, and parents a much more definable understanding of the human body engaging in sport.

Data Removes the Guesswork

OMNi’s Sports Sensor will provide conclusive data that drastically improves player safety by virtue of eliminating the guesswork relative to head impact. Our researchers have created a sensor that interacts with an app that records and tracks the level of severity that is experienced by someone with our wearable sensor.

Data can be analyzed at the end of a play, practice, game, season, or even a career. Each impact is tracked by the sensor and sent via Bluetooth to the OMNi app, which rates the severity using a proprietary measurement system that we’ve developed. The system can trigger an immediate need for action or maintain player safety as the season progresses.

OMNi’s Mission

The long-term effects of repeated concussions have been a high-level concern for everyone affiliated with sports. OMNi has developed a way to make this very serious concern easier to measure, easier to track, and easier to analyze. Our product is looking to make sports safer for the people we idolize for playing them. We aspire to fuel real change by improving athlete safety. The advanced technology we utilize will ultimately make sports safer for those who are participating.
